In reply to Vinay. Oh, sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. I guess everyone has different tastes! Yup, the black sauce is sweet. The chilli gravy is in a separate metal container so customers have to scoop it for themselves. So actually this dish is as spicy as you want it to be, and certainly yummy to those of us that love it. I have been eating from the same stall for years!

I was looking for some grilled chicken corners in Singapore on the web and found your article. Pictures were looking quite yummy, so I decided to visit kopitam at Plaza Singapura L6 Indonesian Riverside BBQ where Grilled chicken is served.

After getting first bite of the meal I was actually disappointed. I was expecting it to be spicy, but turned out to be sweet :(. I couldn’t finish the meal even it was so sweet.

If you are thinking it to be spicy and to be yummy, then I wouldn’t recommend it.

Ah yes :) Do all those stalls fall under the umbrella of the original? I did a review of a similar stall at the Tiong Bahru Plaza Kopitiam but whether or not it’s the same owner is still inconclusive. Here’s the review: http://sparklette.net/food/indonesian-grill-delights/

I think this stall has several outlets in foodcourts islandwide, like in Suntec and Compass Point. Gotta agree that the chicken’s really addictive!

I never knew they have a branch in Suntec! Is it run by the same owner? Where exactly is it? Are the queues as long? Haha sorry for my torrent of questions. I’m just excited and would really love to know! I go to Suntec City Mall all the time so it would be great to check it out!

After writing about this, went there today with a kaki and urge him to try it and forget about the KL roasted meats which he was eyeing. He tried the grilled chicken and said it is good. Warned him about the soup but he slurped it up. 2 hours he complained about the MSG in the soup, hahaha…
BTW prices have gone up after they renovated and I think the stall had relocated.

snoop around here and found this write up. I dashed down to have a go of the grilled chicken after reading your review and forgot to come back to thanks you for the recommendation. Maybe because it was not as good as you said ;). Anyway did go back for another taste. 2nd time was good. I even sent your photo of the grilled chicken to ieatishootipost to lure him there.

That means it must be great! I should try it then…My wife always leave it to me to bring us for dinner…sometimes stressing me out because when I’m late at deciding where to go, she’ll just show me her sour face and forget the whole idea…Errgghh!!! That’s when I tried to surf the net and found ur site…again! Lol! Thanks Veron! For quite sometime now, we’ve been patronising the same cycle of eateries. I’m tired of them all now.

I tried the ayam panggang from that stall at Fork and Spoon a couple of months back. It was just okay and didn't really leave me with a deep impression. Maybe I'm too conditioned to the taste of the one at Riverside Indonesian BBQ!

Any idea if this ayam panggang has got the same taste as the one at Fork and Spoon in Toa Payoh HDB Hub? There’s one shop selling some Stingray Panggang, Sotong Panggang and Ayam Panggang. I love that shop. I think they cost around $3.50 to $4.50. Reminds me of Padang, Indonesia…

Hi! remember me? Its been long…the same occasion again. i was looking for food to dine with my family…and came across your site again! Its hard to find great halal food around…In the end, I ended up eating at “Mad Jack’s”. Its along Bukit Timah Rd somewhere. Its not that great, but considering its Australian meal size…how can I resist. Reminds me of when I visited Adelaide. Now, it has been our family dinner spot. Its unhealthy…but as you always did…excercise and dieting would help!

About the neckless I bought from u…she kept it somewhere as I predicted…Argh!!! Love your new upgrading, gal! U rock!

Reading your blog all the way from China right now.

I miss the food in Singapore. Especially this stall in PS! It’s like a must for me everytime I go there. The sauce is superb!

Try the squid one. The sauce is the same as the chicken one if I’m not wrong. Both are just as nice.

oh man, I miss that stall a lot.
