You could see that the 5 cooks work as a well-oiled team – far from being a Hell’s Kitchen scene.
We worked from a fixed menu so couldn’t experience everything they’re know for, but the 2 or 3 choices for each course suited everyone. The bread was excellent, and I had to resist spoiling my dinner with it. An ” amuse bouche” certainly primed my tastebuds for the salmon tartar, which was as tasty as it was unusual as a starter. The soup was delicately seasoned, with the wooden box soup “bowl” adding its aroma. Many ordered the rack of lamb, but with different degrees of doneness. Surprisingly, each order came out cooked perfectly. With Champagne, an organic Malbec, and a beautiful Clouds Rest Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the meal, we rounded it off with a delicious dessert and (for me) cappuccino. Service was very good, and the setting conducive to conversation. One guest was an executive with the Conrad, and complimented them on their well-designed table, glass and silver ware.
The best review came from the guests, who gave the cooking crew an ovation ! I’ll be back.

This is part of a meal where too many times, the Wow factor is rarely at the rendez vous, but just in the way they present those desserts I have no doubt that there’s work/focus in there.

Ah yes, The Olive Ristorante :) I can totally see why you would suggest this place. My former boss brought me there for dinner once and the ambience was just amazing! You can check out my review of The Olive Ristorante at Labrador Park :)

Oh! I think the Green Room Cafe is exactly what the other Crystal was referring to. Thanks for this list!

I have heard about that spa in Bishan Park but I haven’t been there yet. Are they good? I suppose the garden and greenery spa/dining concept is rather similar. We went on a tour around the spa and pool area, and it truly is resort-quality. Most of the spa stations are outdoor, and there is even a mud spa area where people were freely applying the mud on their bodies! Too bad we didn’t get a chance to try it. Ah well, maybe next time!

Ironically where I live, The Sentosa is in fact nearer as compared to Bishan!

Wow, you’re sharp! Yes, that tree is fake, although it does look very realistic. I thought it’s real at first until I noticed there were no dead leaves lying around. It’s a unique concept and fits very nicely into the overall garden and healthy dining theme.

Come to think of it, those chicken rice DO resemble sushi, the ones without seaweed like the California sushi roll. It’s pretty amazing how tasty they made it, considering the lack of chicken fat and sesame oil!

From the looks of it, mainly foreigners would come here, and the spa-goers and resort stayers perhaps. Unless there is some special reason to go on the island, most Singaporeans wouldn’t make a trip all the way there for a meal. It’s a pity, because the food looks promising.

Have you been to the spa at Bishan Park? The concept is similar I think, and they have a cafe.

A big tree like that needs ample sunlight for growth. So I’m guessing that the tree is fake.

Yeah those watermelon sticks resemble crabsticks, but I wouldn’t imagine a place like this serving crabsticks!

I would love to try the chicken rice. They look like sushi rolls. All the veggies on the side look great.

Thanks for highlighting this restaurant. After all the hype surround the Sentosa IR, it is refreshing to hear about other places on the island for a change.
